Terms & Conditions

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the WATools Hub Chrome extension and any associated websites or services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Sabir Hussein Khan ("we," "us," or "our").

By installing or using the extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing the WATools Hub extension from the Chrome Web Store, or by accessing any associated website, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a legal guardian.
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
• You have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
• You will use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

2. What WATools Hub Does

WATools Hub is a Chrome Manifest V3 browser extension that adds a productivity and privacy layer to the WhatsApp Web interface. The extension provides the following features:

• Chat Folders: Organise WhatsApp chats into custom, colour-coded workspace folders stored locally in your browser.
• Privacy Blur (Stealth Focus): Blur chat names, avatars, and message history for on-screen privacy. All blur settings are stored locally.
• Smart Notes & Reminders: Save annotations to WhatsApp messages, set browser-based follow-up reminders using Chrome Alarms API. All notes are stored in your browser's IndexedDB — never uploaded.
• Group Member Export: Export the visible member list of a WhatsApp group you are a member of to a local CSV file.
• Chat Backup: Export the currently visible conversation as a self-contained HTML file to your local machine.

3. License Grant & Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use WATools Hub for your personal or internal business use.

Free Tier

WATools Hub offers a free tier with the following limits enforced at the application level:

Pro Tier (Paid)

Purchasing a Pro or Founder Lifetime license unlocks all features without the limits above. The license is tied to your ExtensionPay account and verified server-side. Paid status is cached locally for up to 6 hours before re-verification.

Restrictions

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense the extension or any part of it.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code.
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any feature-gating or license verification mechanism.
• Use the extension to collect data from users other than yourself without their explicit consent.
• Use the extension in any way that violates applicable laws or the terms of third-party platforms.

4. Payments, Pricing & Refunds

Paid plans are processed through ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), a third-party payment processor. By purchasing, you also agree to ExtensionPay's Terms of Service.

Founder Lifetime Deal

Pro Monthly Subscription

The Pro Monthly plan is billed at $4.99 USD per month. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your ExtensionPay dashboard.

Refund Policy

• We offer a 7-day refund on first-time purchases if the extension does not function as described on your device and we are unable to resolve the issue.
• Refund requests must be submitted to info@watoolshub.online within 7 days of purchase.
• We reserve the right to decline refund requests where the extension has been used extensively or where the issue is caused by factors outside our control (e.g., WhatsApp UI changes).
• Lifetime deal purchases are non-refundable after 7 days.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Existing annual subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any price change affects their renewal. Lifetime Founder Access is locked at the purchase price permanently.

5. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use WATools Hub for:

• Any unlawful activity, including but not limited to harassment, stalking, or unauthorized surveillance of individuals.
• Exporting or storing contact data (from group exports) without the knowledge or consent of those individuals, in violation of applicable privacy laws (including GDPR, CCPA, or UAE PDPL).
• Any commercial purpose of reselling, redistributing, or providing the extension as a service to third parties.
• Attempting to access, extract, or interfere with data belonging to other WhatsApp users beyond what is visible to you as a standard user of the platform.
• Using the Group Export feature to build unsolicited marketing lists or spam databases.
• Bypassing the paywall via code manipulation, storage tampering, or any other technical means.

6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Platform Dependency

WATools Hub operates on top of WhatsApp Web — a third-party platform we do not control. WhatsApp may update its interface, selectors, or internal architecture at any time, which may temporarily or permanently break some or all features of this extension. We will make reasonable efforts to update the extension promptly, but we make no guarantee of uninterrupted functionality.

No Warranty

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Account Safety

WATools Hub does not automate sending or receiving messages and does not use the WhatsApp API. However, we cannot guarantee that WhatsApp will never take action against accounts using browser extensions. Use of third-party browser extensions on any platform carries inherent risk. We are not liable for any suspension, ban, or restriction applied to your WhatsApp account.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall WATools Hub, its founder, or contributors be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.
• Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
• Any damages resulting from WhatsApp platform changes that affect extension functionality.

Our total cumulative liability for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the extension from Chrome. Uninstalling clears all locally stored data (notes, folders, settings) from your browser. We recommend exporting your notes and folders before uninstalling.

On termination for cause, any outstanding license (including Lifetime) may be revoked without refund.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Valencia, Spain. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you retain any mandatory rights under your local consumer protection law.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Chrome Web Store listing or via email to registered Pro users. Continued use of the extension after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is the core design principle of WATools Hub. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what data is collected, where it is stored, and who can access it. The short version: almost all your data stays on your device, and we have no access to your WhatsApp conversations, contacts, or media.

10. What Data Is Processed & Where It Lives

Data We Do NOT Collect

• The content of your WhatsApp messages.
• Your WhatsApp contacts list or phone numbers (except those visible during group export, which go to your local CSV only).
• Your WhatsApp account details, phone number, or profile information.
• Media files (images, voice notes, videos) — these are downloaded directly to your machine.
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind.
• Your IP address, browser fingerprint, or device identifiers.
• Browsing history on any other websites.

11. How Data Is Stored & Secured

Local-Only Storage

All user-generated data (notes, folders, settings) is stored exclusively using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API and browser IndexedDB. This data is sandboxed to the extension — no other website or extension can access it.

License Cache Security

The paid/free license status is cached locally using an XOR-encrypted, FNV-1a checksummed entry in chrome.storage.local. The storage key is derived from your extension ID to prevent trivial copying across browser profiles. The cache expires every 6 hours for paid users and is re-verified against ExtensionPay's server on each check.

Password / PIN

If you set a blur unlock password, only the SHA-256 hash of that password is stored in chrome.storage.local. The plain text password is never stored or transmitted.

Data Retention

Your data persists in your browser until you:

• Uninstall the extension (Chrome clears chrome.storage.local automatically).
• Manually clear browser storage for the extension.
• Use the extension's built-in data clearing features.

We recommend exporting your notes (JSON or CSV) before uninstalling to preserve your data.

12. Third-Party Services

ExtensionPay (Payment Processing)

We use ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) to handle payments and license verification. When you purchase a Pro plan, your payment details are processed by ExtensionPay and their payment partner (Stripe). We do not receive or store your credit card number or payment details. ExtensionPay's privacy policy governs their data handling.

The extension makes one outbound network call: to ExtensionPay's server to verify your paid status. This call includes your ExtensionPay account identifier. It does not include any of your WhatsApp data.

Chrome Web Store

The extension is distributed via the Google Chrome Web Store. Google's privacy policy governs data collected during the installation process.

No Analytics, No Tracking

WATools Hub does not integrate Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, or any other analytics or monitoring service. We have zero visibility into how you use the extension.

WA-JS Library

The extension includes a version of the open-source WA-JS library (wppconnect/wa-js), which is used to access WhatsApp Web's internal store data (e.g., chat lists, group member data) via the browser's page context. This library runs entirely locally in your browser and does not make any external network calls.

13. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, most traditional "data subject rights" (access, deletion, portability) are self-executable — your data is already on your device under your control.

• Access: Your notes are stored in your browser's IndexedDB. You can export them anytime via the Notes panel → Export (JSON or CSV).
• Deletion: Uninstall the extension to permanently delete all locally stored data, or use the in-extension data clear functions.
• Portability: Export all notes and folders to JSON/CSV at any time from within the extension — no account needed.
• Payment data: For payment-related data rights (access, deletion of your ExtensionPay account), contact ExtensionPay directly at their support channel.

GDPR & International Users

Because we do not process personal data on our servers, WATools Hub does not act as a data controller or processor for the purposes of GDPR for your WhatsApp data. The only personal data we process is your email address (via ExtensionPay) for payment and license purposes. That processing is based on contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Children

WATools Hub is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy — particularly if we ever introduce server-side data collection — we will update the effective date and notify users via the Chrome Web Store listing. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
